I am an Army Junior ROTC Cadet.

Cadets.

Our Practices are every day from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Raider season lasts from September to December. During practices, we always start by running about a mile. We practice all types of events that occur on competition days. There are some days of the week when we have a CrossFit workout. Raider competition consists of 5 events where we participate in vigorous physical activity needed at maximum effort to be the best. In all competitions, there are the following events:

• 5K: 10 people running through a trail that stretches for 3 miles. A true achievement of endurance.
• Tire Flip: Flip a tire of 500 pounds with 5 cadets at a time to the end and back to the start, switching cadets at each point.
• Littercarry: Run a mile carrying a litter of about 100 pounds with 7 cadets in a rotation of 4 seconds to hold the litter, while 3 other cadets carry a rucksack of about 30 pounds.
• Fitness Test/Obstacle Course: Run to the starting line, crawl for about 10 meters, carry two items that weigh 20 pounds to the next point, then crawl under an obstacle, carry a log with all team members to the endpoint, and then repeat it backward. This event can have added obstacles like a wall to climb over, under, etc.
• Rope Bridge: Tie a rope across two high points (usually trees) while other cadets prepare their Swiss seats to cross the rope in under 15 minutes.

Our practices for the drill are every day from 2:30 pm to 4:30 pm. Drill Season lasts from December to April. During practices, we always begin with reviewing the simple drill commands. Furthermore, we go into more advanced commands, which help the cadets develop and improve their skills. Once the whole drill team is experienced, we go into more complex marching and start learning Exhibition (which requires rifles), which prepares the cadets for further participation in armed/unarmed squads, platoons, and color guard for competitions.

The following events are held at competitions:

• Unarmed/Armed: Female/Male/Mixed - Squad or Platoon
• Exhibition: Female/Male/ Mixed - Individual/Dual/Squad/Platoon
• Color Guard: Female/Male/ Mixed

Our Service Learning Projects teach cadets how to integrate community service with academic studies to enrich learning and strengthen their communities. It's an enlightening experience for the cadets because it connects the classroom and the real world. It allows them to connect and learn through student participation and contribution from the experience to influence our community positively. In short, this promotes a sense of care and love towards others. Participating in our service learning increases our cadet's attendance rate, our cadet's interaction with people of diverse cultures and lifestyles, and our cadet's personal and social responsibility development.
